2024-25 Scholarship Applications will be available by June 1, 2024.

2024-25 Scholarship Applications will be available by June 1, 2024.  Completed applications will be due by September 1, and awards will be announced by 10/15/24.

The Synod of the Covenant seeks to develop leadership for the Church of Jesus Christ by awarding scholarships to full or part-time students seeking a first baccalaureate degree or certification at colleges, universities, and vocational schools, or a first master’s degree in theology.

To be eligible, applicants must be an active participant in a PC(USA) congregation, new worshipping community, or campus ministry within the bounds of the synod and have the endorsement of a leader from that ministry. Applicants shall have and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and have demonstrated leadership in one more of the priorities of the Matthew 25 Initiative (building congregational/ministry vitality, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty).

The synod will give special consideration for leaders emerging from Communities of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and those with financial need.

Applications will be available here before June 1, 2024.  All applications are due by September 1, 2024, and awards will be made by October 15, 2024. The amount of the scholarship will vary based on the number and financial need of the applicants and the Christian leadership that they have shown. In 2023, scholarships ranged from $500 to $2,000.
