We are happy to share that we launched the Racial Justice Speaking Series with Rev.
Dr. Lis Valle-Ruiz facilitating a conversation on the Intersection of Art, Gender, and Racial Justice during the month of April. Our second speaker was the Rev. Dr. Alexandra Zareth, with the topic of Effects of historic generational trauma because of systemic racism during the month of June. Our upcoming conversation will be led by Rev. Dr. Alonzo Johnson, Director of the Office of Self Development of People (SDOP). Rev. Johnson will facilitate a conversation on SDOP and the ways in which our Synod can partner to create healthier communities surrounding our congregations. The title of the workshop is "Discerning Connections and Intersections: Engaging the Work of Justice, Anti-Poverty, and Network Building with the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People" by Rev. Alonzo Johnson. Come join us on August 13, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
We look forward to you joining us in this series. The past two have been lively, rich, and
we came out with concrete ideas on how to become healthier and God-loving faith
communities. Mark your calendars!
