"Navigating Artificial Intelligence: Understanding --> Discerning --> Ministering"
The AI event will be from 9:00am-4:00pm on Friday, October 30th. Registration is free and lunch will be included for all those attending.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing how we communicate, learn, work and relax. To disregard it will only further marginalize the church. Join us October 30 for a day of learning and conversation with computer scientist and theologian Noreen Herzfeld and pastor and faith and science scholar Greg Cootsona as we take three steps together: understanding what AI is (and isn't), discerning a faithful Christian response, and considering how AI is impacting ministry. Through keynotes, interactive sessions, and table talks, you'll name your own fears and questions, explore how you can use AI more wisely, and gain insights from recent church statements. You'll leave with clearer thinking and practical ideas for your own life and for your congregation. Whether you're a tech enthusiast, a skeptic, or unsure, you'll find a thoughtful, welcoming space to wrestle with some of the biggest questions raised by the rise of AI.

Overnight accommodations:

Overnight accommodations are $85 per night. Unless you are a Synod Commissioner/Moderator for the SOC Presbyterian Women, you will be asked for a credit card upon arrival, but you will have a reservation according to your registration.

If you are a Synod Commissioner/Moderator for SOC Presbyterian Women you the synod will be paying for your overnight stay

Synod After Dark
After the day’s meetings we will gather in one of the common areas on the floors with overnight accommodations. We encourage you to bring your favorite snack and/or beverage to share with the assembly (both adult beverages or equally appealing alcohol alternatives are welcome!). This is a time for informal fellowship. It is not mandatory but we assure you it is a good time!
Synod after Dark on Friday we encourage you to wear a costume in honor of Halloween the following day!
