Greetings Co-Workers in Christ
It is with great excitement to announce the Pastoral Leadership Conference will be July 21-23, 2027, on the campus of Muskingum University in New Concord, OH!
The theme of the conference will be “The Leadership Moment” and will focus on four aspects of leadership: Understanding the Leader, Followers and the Leader-Follower Relationship, Developing a Shared Vision and Meaningful Goals, and Leading Within Context. Each focus will include an opening narrative, explanation of key concepts, and time for application and reflection.
As we continue to develop and refine the conference, we are committed to offering times for sabbath, reflection, and rest, family friendly accommodations, activities, and events, and a price point around $200 per participant (with adjustments for commuters). And though this conference is open to all church leaders, we want to make a particular pledge of support for CREs, their continuing education, and developing community opportunities.
I want to say a special thank you to the planning team, including Dr. Robert McManus (Muskingum University), Dr. Johnna Herrick-Phelps (Princeton), Rev. Kimberly Ashby (Detroit Presbytery), Rev. Barry Chance (EP Eastminster Presbytery), Pastor Jill Morrison Warner (Synod Commissioner Muskingum Valley), and Rev. Ruth-Aimée Belonni-Rosario (Synod Associate Executive).
I will continue to post updates and more information for the Pastoral Leadership Conference in the coming months. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me.
I am looking forward to seeing you all in July 2027 at the conference!
“Peace to you. The friends send you their greetings. Greet the friends there, each by name”
