From Your Synod Executive

Colleagues and Siblings in Christ,
You may remember that I had a total knee replacement on July 13. July 30 was my first
post-operation check-up with the surgeon’s team.
The good news is that the Physician’s Assistant said that the x-rays were “textbook” and
that my flexibility was about a month ahead of schedule. The bad news is that the
intensity of my pain is unlikely to subside soon and that it will most likely be 2 to 4 more
weeks before she would recommend beginning to taper off on my medication. That
means returning to work (even from home) or driving will be delayed longer than I have
hoped.

I will try to send an update at least once a week. I’m very appreciative of the amazing
Synod staff and elected leadership, who together are keeping everything moving
smoothly in my absence. I treasure your prayers. While I recuperate, please continue
to contact Office Manager Heather Johnston at heather@synodofhtecovenant.org for
administrative questions and Associate Executive Ruth-Aimee Belonni-Rosario at
ruthaimee@synodofthecovenant.org for more general leadership questions.
Thank you and God bless you,
Chip
