Drawing on her research at the intersection of preaching and AI, Alison will lay out three provable limitations of AI when it comes to writing sermons — limitations that aren’t simply about present-day technologies, but limitations that reveal the value and importance of you, as a human being, being the one who writes your sermon.
After a guided discussion of each of these limitations, participants will explore them through practical activities to make their own sermons “more human.” In the end, participants will emerge with a more robust understanding of what is happening when AI is making a sermon, new tools for preaching in an AI age, and a renewed ability to celebrate God’s choosing of wonderfully, human you.
