In our polarized nation we have witnessed both a renewed commitment among some Christians to pursue racial justice as well as intense arguments about race, politics, and faith. It is important for Christians to comprehend the legacies of slavery and racial oppression as we seek to faithfully enact racial justice in our congregations, communities, and nation today. Yet it is also necessary to approach history in ways that prioritize responsibility and repair over despair and shame. In this workshop William Yoo covers how history is used and misused when Christians talk about racism, and he offers a pathway toward ministries of racial justice that is honest, hopeful, practical, and prophetic.
