Meet new staff person Tim Pollock, Commissioned Ruling Elder/Commissioned Pastor Coordinator

Tim Pollock (Muskingum Valley Presbytery) begins as the Commissioned Ruling Elders (CREs)/Commissioned Pastors Coordinator on January 11, 2024.  In this position, he will work with presbyteries to advance their CRE ministries and explore common training standards.  A CRE himself serving full time at Bloomfield United in New Concord (OH), Tim’s gifts include communications and theological acumen.  He is working toward an MDiv at Fuller Seminary.


In addition to serving as the Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE)/Commissioned Pastor Coordinator for the Synod, Tim Pollock has served Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church as a CRE pastor for over 10 years. Tim also serves on the advisory board of the Reformed National Church of the Sahel. Tim has served as Stated Clerk and Moderator of Muskingum Valley, as well as support with CRE training and development.


Tim has been an adjunct instructor of Communication and Interim chaplain at Muskingum University. Tim is the Managing Director of Big Fish Folklife, a Christian non-profit for artists he founded with Rachel Pollock and Candice McMath. Tim was a professional puppeteer for Madcap Productions Puppet theatre in Cincinnati, OH and enjoys sci-fi/fantasy, table RPGs, and pop/rock/folk music. Tim aspires to be a falconer one day. Tim resides in New Concord, OH with his wife, Rachel, and two sons, Sam (21) and John Luc (17).


Tim Pollock earned his BA of Theatre and English at Heidelberg University, his

MA of Communication Studies at Ohio University and is currently attending Fuller

Theological Seminary in the Master of Divinity program.
