Spiritual Retreats at Skyline Camp and Retreat Center
Much is written today about our need for Sabbath. Business magazines and Christian journals both point to the positive effects a day apart every month or two can have to turn off the cell phone and leave behind all the piles of undones and half-dones. We are created to observe rhythms of activity and of being still.
This is more than a quiet time that is set apart to work without interruptions on professional and church work. A personal retreat can head us to the place where we are loved apart from anything we can ever accomplish-or think we accomplish ourselves. It is a time to rest in God's love and become filled with God's love, compassion and presence so that we can fulfill God's call to us.
People report that when they get to that place, they can breathe again. "This personal retreat restores passion, rearranges perspective, and reroutes priorities. There we can really see who we are (and aren't) and more importantly, who Jesus is," says Jane Rubietta, author of The Resting Place.
